Each course is designed to teach you the most current information. Attendees must participate in person.

Pre-conference courses are not included in the general session registration. Each pre-conference course requires separate registration.

Burn workshop - Wednesday, June 28, 3:00-5:00PM

Burn Workshop Pre-Conference Course

The  Burn Program at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson is pleased to  announce a 4-hour pre-conference course on caring for burn patients in  the austere environment. Participants will gain knowledge and experience  on a variety of emergent situations and subsequent core procedures seen  in the field under austere conditions. 


Topics include: 

  • Basics of burns and initial management
  • Recognizing a compromised airway 
  • Surgical airway cricothyrotomy
  • IO needles with cutdowns through burned tissue
  • Compartment syndrome & escharotomies
  • Dressing types and application techniques 


This  fast-paced, interactive, hands-on course will be broken up into five  stations and is sure to leave everyone confident, inspired and excited  about burn care.

Airway STAT: A Hands-On Approach Pre-Conference Course

A-Hands-On Approach to Video Laryngoscopy and Cricothyroidotomy


Boost  ‘just in time’ creative problem-solving and your range of skills for  crucial airway and ventilation management in our dynamic airway STAT  lab! 


In  this fast-paced, hands-on skills lab, you will learn and transform your  skills using the newest techniques and technologies. Featuring our  experienced airway STAT instructional team, we guide participants  through relevant uses of video laryngoscopy, direct laryngoscopy,  cricothyrotomy, moulaged patient scenarios, needle decompression, and  our PEEP show!
